THE KAPLAN COMMITMENTSM STATEMENT.
AT KAPLAN UNIVERSITY, WE ARE COMMITTED TO YOUR EDUCATION, YOUR GOALS — YOU.
It's a firm commitment built on five key tenets. These are core principles that
ground us, guide us, and ensure our dedication to helping you succeed.
1. WE BELIEVE IN YOUR TALENT.
Kaplan University was founded on the belief that every person with talent, regardless
of age or circumstance, deserves the chance to develop it. We recognize the value
of real-world experience and previously attained credit through prior learning assessment
to ensure no eligible student wastes time or money on courses and skills already
attained.
2. WE BELIEVE IF WE’RE NOT RIGHT FOR YOU THEN YOU SHOULDN'T BE FINANCIALLY OBLIGATED
TO US.
The Kaplan CommitmentSM
is a new way for you to get to know us and for us to get to know you. There’s no
financial obligation beyond the application fee.* It's available to new
students, online or on campus. It's simple.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS:
- Enrollment: You'll attend real classes for real credits. These classes
count toward your degree if completed. During this period, a Kaplan University Financial
Aid Advisor will clearly estimate your expected school costs: tuition, books,
miscellaneous everything, including the application fee, as well as your
financial aid options should you be eligible.
- Week 1: You'll begin the five-week introductory period, during which
you'll get exposed to our curriculum, faculty, and classroom or online platforms.
If at any point during the introductory period you decide we're not right for you,
you can opt out with no tuition cost or other financial obligation to Kaplan University,
except for the application fee.
- Week 5: This is the checkpoint week. It marks the end of your introductory
period, and is the time to let us officially know if you no longer wish to continue.
Otherwise, if you're meeting our academic standards, and have submitted all required
documentation, you will move forward with your Kaplan University education. If applicable,
you will receive your specific financial aid package.
- Week 10: The first term ends(week six for graduate business and IT
students). If you meet all academic and course requirements, you will earn your
course credits and continue your degree path.
3. WE BELIEVE IN SUPPORT THAT BEGINS BEFORE YOU ENROLL AND PREPARES YOU FOR SUCCESS
AFTER YOU GRADUATE.
- Prior to enrollment we'll provide resources ranging from campus events to our Personalized
Information Center which you can use to gain insights from our faculty and alumni.
- You'll get personalized support from a network of Financial, Academic and Admissions
Advisors. They take into account the individual demands of your life. Whether it's
explaining your financial aid options or helping select courses that are right for
you, you will not be on your own.
- Learn from professors who bring valuable, real-world experience.
- Take advantage of career services including resume workshops and interviewing and
networking webinars.
- Connect with our alumni network.
4. WE BELIEVE A UNIVERSITY SHOULD ADAPT TO ITS STUDENTS NOT THE OTHER WAY
AROUND.
We understand nontraditional students working parents, late bloomers, career
changers have obligations beyond school. As a university that's student driven
for driven students, you'll attend classes in a flexible learning environment with
schedules designed to fit your life. With the freedom to take classes on campus,
or online, on your terms, you can meet academic requirements without sacrificing
personal or professional duties.
5. WE BELIEVE IN SURROUNDING YOU WITH FACULTY AND ADVISORS DEDICATED TO YOUR SUCCESS.
- Our online math, writing, science, and technology centers offer support vir tually
whenever, wherever you have an Internet connection.
- Our professors are just a click away you can email directly from the classroom
or contact them during online office hours. Campus students have access in person
through regular office hours.
- Curriculum designers draw on industry advisory boards to keep our career-focused
programs up-to-date and relevant.
At Kaplan University, we are a different school of thought.SM We want your experience to be
as rewarding, transparent, and positive as we can possibly make it. This is our
commitment, in writing, to you.
*Classes will count toward a student's degree if satisfactorily completed. No credits
are earned if the student withdraws during the introductory period. The introductory
period is five weeks and begins day one of the student’s first academic term. If
at any point during the introductory period a student chooses to opt out, he or
she will have no other obligation to the University except for the application fee.
Only available to new students; continuing students and students enrolled in the
Graduate Certificate in Entrepreneurship for Growth Ventures or Graduate Certificate
in Entrepreneurship for New Ventures are not eligible. Additional terms may apply
to international students and non-U.S. citizens.
