Master of Public Administration
The Master of Public Administration degree program is designed to help practicing
and aspiring administrators develop the skills and techniques needed to provide
leadership in a wide variety of public service fields.* The program focuses
on teaching you to evaluate, implement, and manage policy, and to make ethical and
effective decisions in the interest of the public. You will also have the opportunity
to study budgeting and the administration of public funds, strategic planning, and
applied research.
Intensive Study Areas
In addition to pursuing a general MPA degree, you can choose a health care management,
governmental management, or criminal justice intensive study area. Each intensive
study area will provide you with the flexibility to select one graduate-level
elective course from any offered within the School of Legal Studies or School of
Criminal Justice. These elements allow you to tailor the degree program around the
area that most interests you and what is the best fit for your career goals.

Federal agencies are projected to hire more than 270,000 mission-critical jobs through
September 30, 2012. Most federal hiring will be concentrated in the professional
